Abstract

Indramayu Regency with an area of 514 km² is known as one of the biggest sea fish producers in West Java. Most of Indramayu Regency residents work as fishermen. Most fishermen need a real time fishing potential zone (ZPPI) information to support their activities. Currently, they have to wait for the arrival of ZPPI information using SMS platform from the National Institute of Aviation and Space (LAPAN) with intermediaries from the Office of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs (Diskanla) Indramayu. The obstacle faced is the delay in delivering ZPPI information to the fishermen so that the sea catch result is not optimal. Based on that problem, the team made a system that can present ZPPI information which is facilitated by the Nearby Capture Zone (ZTT) search system. This ZPPI information system uses application media in the Android platform which will be used to view ZPPI coordinates and pointed the ZTT. Through the closest point zone search system with the Haversine method, the application can decide to provide the nearest ZPPI point information. This application is expected to help the fishermen to boost their sea catch result in the future. Keywords: ZPPI, Android, Haversine, Indramayu district, fishermen
